Andasibe: Lemurs & Rainforest Trails
Chameleons at Peyrieras, a walk among the lemurs at Vakona, a guided night walk, and an early start in Analamazaotra, where the indri call most mornings.

Eight set itineraries, each a starting point rather than a fixed departure. Every trip is private and planned with you in French, Spanish or English, and the price per adult includes your vehicle, an English-speaking driver-guide and park fees.
Chameleons at Peyrieras, a walk among the lemurs at Vakona, a guided night walk, and an early start in Analamazaotra, where the indri call most mornings.
Sunset on the Avenue of the Baobabs, a night walk in Kirindy, the Grand Tsingy hike and a canoe on the Manambolo River.
Four days drifting down the Tsiribihina with camps on the riverbank, then the Grand Tsingy, Kirindy's nocturnal forest and the baobabs.
Indri at Analamazaotra, the Palmarium's approachable lemurs, boat rides on the Pangalanes Canal, then island time on Sainte Marie.
The classic route done properly: Andasibe, Ranomafana, Anja's ring-tailed lemurs, the canyons of Isalo and the reef at Ifaty.
The Three Bays, Montagne d'Ambre, the red Tsingy and a full day in Ankarana's caves, then Lokobe and the sand of Nosy Iranja.
Twelve days from Antananarivo: Amber Mountain, Ankarana, Lokobe, Sakatia snorkelling, Mont Passot and an Iranja day trip. Flights extra.
Three weeks and nearly every landscape the island has: river cruise, Tsingy, baobabs, remote Vezo coast and the southern parks.
No trip matches that combination, but almost everything we run is tailor-made. Tell us what you're after.
Every Tongasoa Mada Tours trip is private. You travel with your own vehicle and driver-guide, never in a coach, and the itineraries aren't fixed departures, so you choose the start date. Each day you set the departure time and stop where you want to stop.
Prices are per adult. Every trip includes a private vehicle with an English-speaking driver-guide, bed and breakfast accommodation, park entrance fees and local guides. Drinks, tips and personal expenses are extra on every trip, and so are lunches and dinners unless a trip lists them: the 20-day trip includes meals on its Tsiribihina River cruise, and the two north trips include food and excursions for three days on Nosy Be. No trip price includes flights. Where a trip starts or ends with a domestic flight, we can book it for you.
The final price depends on group size, season and the hotels you choose, and we confirm it in writing before anything is booked. For the costs outside our price, such as flights and tips, see what a Madagascar trip costs.
No. There's no account to create, no deposit and no obligation. Send the trip, your dates and the number of travellers through the booking form or on WhatsApp, and a real person in Antananarivo replies, usually within 24 hours, with a written itinerary, the final price for your group size and the hotels we have held. Only then do you pay a deposit.
As soon as you know your dates. Our trips have no fixed departures, so any start date can work, and the hotels in our reply are held for the dates you send. If you're set on the west, with the Tsingy and the Tsiribihina River, check the season first: the 5-day West trip is best from April to November, and the 10-day West Adventure and the 20-day Ultimate trip from May to November. Our guide to the best time to visit Madagascar goes month by month.
Yes. The itineraries are starting points, not fixed departures. You can change the length, swap a park, add Nosy Be at the end or slow the pace down. Hotels can be upgraded or downgraded to match your budget, and extra days added for birding, trekking or diving.
Solo travellers are welcome to ask. Most of our prices assume at least two people, and the price per person depends on the size of the group, so we quote a trip for one separately. Put one traveller in the booking form, or message us on WhatsApp, and we'll reply with a written itinerary and a firm price for one. Asking costs nothing.
With a few days, the 2-day Andasibe trip covers the eastern rainforest, home of the indri, and 5 days in the west covers the baobabs and the Grand Tsingy. Ten to twelve days suits one region: the west with the Tsiribihina River, the east, the RN7 south, or the north. Three weeks lets you combine the west, the coast and the south, as on the Ultimate Madagascar Adventure. Our Madagascar itinerary guide compares the options.
What fits in one, two or three weeks, with real drive times and the combinations that waste days on the road.
What a private Madagascar trip costs, what our prices include, and what goes on top: flights, the visa, meals and tips, plus park fees if you travel on your own.
Month by month and region by region: dry roads, cyclones, the Tsingy's short season, whales, lemur babies, birds and chameleons.
Which ages Madagascar suits, lemurs and night walks, long drives and malaria tablets, the school-holiday months, and how to pace a private family trip with a beach at the end.
Where all-inclusive exists in Madagascar, how touring prices differ, what our prices include, what meals cost on the road, and how to end a tour at a beach resort.
A UK package, a local operator or going it alone: what each costs, what ATOL covers, flights from UK airports, the visa, pounds, school holidays and a sample two-week trip.
These itineraries are starting points, not fixed departures. Change the length, swap a park, add Nosy Be at the end, slow the pace down. It's your private trip.
